therapy involves a hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the
body
including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. It is
an irreplaceable therapy that helps to alleviate soft tissue discomfort from
muscle adhesion, occupational stress, muscular veruse, injuries, chronic
pain and motor vehicle injuries. Massage has a therapeutic effect to improve

Certain patients may require a variety of techniques utilized
together to
enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. This may include incorporating
massage techniques with lymphatic drainage, deep tissue massage, Reiki and
hydrotherapy applications.
Massage therapists in Ontario are required to complete a minimum
2200 hours
of intensive anatomical, physiological and clinical studies, including
extensive practical instruction at an accredited college. Upon graduation,
written and clinical examinations set by the College of Massage Therapists
of Ontario. Examinations must be successfully completed in order to earn a
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) title.
Our massage therapist graduated from Kikkawa College. She has
established
experience in the most advanced Swedish Massage techniques, Motor vehicle
whiplash injuries, adhesions and hydrotherapy applications.
Her
association with the Naturopathic and Allergy Clinic helps to provide
complete health care to our patients. It also helps to closely treat and
monitor our patient's program.

On your first visit, your medical history form will be
reviewed. An initial assessment will be performed which may include;
muscular, neurological, range-of-motion testing and a postural evaluation.
This will help tailor a treatment plan according to your specific needs.
