Dear Dr. Srajelden,
How are you? I tried to call you a few times but you were
always busy so I decided to write, I want you to know that you are a life-saver.
I have never felt better in all my life and I have never been happier. I am
living life at its fullest. I am doing things that I always wanted to do but
never thought they were possible. Spring 1997 was when it All started. I went
downhill skiing for the first time in my life. I had a really great time And I
have been back to the slopes many times since then. I felt so good that I
decided that I would ride my bicycle to work every day instead of driving. I
live 12 km away from my job and I wasn't sure that I would be able to make it,
but I did. I pedaled to work all summer except on rainy days. It made me feel
great. It was like a boost of energy, first thing in the morning.
I want you to know that you are a life-saver. I have never
felt better in all my life and
I have never been happier.
I am living life at its fullest. I am doing things that I always wanted to do
but never thought they were possible.
I don't know if I ever told you this but when I was a child I
wanted to be a pilot when I grew up. I loved the sky and loved being up high. I
dreamed about jumping out of an airplane, pulling the rip cord on my parachute
and slowly, gracefully floating back down to the earth. Well with all my health
problems I was sure that this dream would never come true. Now thanks to you at
least part of that dream has been realized. I don't think that this time in my
life that I am willing to make such A drastic career change but guess what? I
took a parachuting course last summer. Well I passed the course, and I had my
first jump. Wow! It was beyond imagination! It is out of this world! It was
better then I ever dreamed it would be. I went parachuting again in the fall and
it was just as amazing. Well the parachute club opens again in April and I plan
on jumping again soon.
Well, last fall I had another adventure. About a half an hour
from my house there is a place called Lyon Mountain. I used to hear people talk
about how wonderful it was to hike up the mountain in the fall. The colors are
magnificent and the view was out of this world. So I planned a hiking trip with
my two children. It was a beautiful sunny day and the temperature was just
right. It was a long hard two hour hike to the top but it was well worth it. I
made it! And I was so happy. It was the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen.
Going down was just as hard as going up. The gravity pulls you down faster then
you want to go. It was a wonderful Adventure.
Speaking of Adventure, I had one more that year. I went on
vacation with my husband in November. We went to the Dominican Republic. The
hotel we where staying at gave scuba diving lessons for free. I never liked the
water but the diving instructor convinced me to try it in the swimming pool. I
did so well that he told me he would take me out for a dive in the coral reef.
It was the most amazing experience I've ever had, We took under water pictures,
other wise I would never believe that I did such a thing. I don't know if I will
ever dive again but I have these wonderful memories to look back on. Finally my
life and health is back And I love it!
Thanks to you Doctor I'm looking forward to more new
adventures.
